The Kindergarten

The importance of early years education cannot be underestimated and at Doon International School, we have a truly outstanding Kindergarten Wing. Children from 2.5 to 5 years of age have a dedicated infrastructure designed keeping their needs in mind. We are blessed with a fantastic environment for our youngest children to explore and a world-class curriculum focused on their individual learning needs.

We use the Nature Nurture Curriculum as a base but adapt this to our international setting. Nature Nurture offers an integrated and experiential learning curriculum designed to support the holistic development of students. Rooted in the principles of experiential education, the curriculum seamlessly blends core subjects with life skills, values, and essential 21st-century competencies such as creativity, health awareness, digital literacy, and socio-emotional well-being.

The Nature Nurture curriculum emphasizes hands-on, inquiry-based learning through activity-rich modules and interdisciplinary projects. It connects students’ prior knowledge with new concepts, enabling deeper understanding and meaningful application in real-world contexts. With a strong focus on competency-based education, the program defines and assesses clear learning outcomes, ensuring the development of skills alongside knowledge.

Aligned with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF), Nature Nurture reflects this transformative evolution in education. The program moves beyond traditional subject boundaries to nurture curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning.
